Shipping from China to Japan The Shipping calculation formula

A) When the actual weight of the item is greater than the volume, the calculation method of the freight is as follows:

The first weight freight + (weight (kg) × 2 - 1) × the additional weight freight

For example: 7KG goods are calculated according to the first weight of 20 CNY and the additional weight of 9 CNY, then the total freight is:

20+(7×2-1)*9=137 (CNY)


B) When the actual weight of the item to be delivered is small but the volume is large, the freight shall be charged according to the volume standard, and then the total freight shall be calculated according to the above formula. The formula for obtaining the volume is as follows:

Regular items: length (cm) × width (cm) × height (cm) ÷ 6000 = weight (KG)

Irregular items: longest (cm) × widest (cm) × highest (cm) ÷ 6000 = weight (KG)


C) Fuel surcharges for international express shipping

For example, the current fuel surcharge of DHL Express is 12%, and it needs to be added to the result of formula (A): freight × 12%

Fuel surcharges are generally discounted along with shipping charges

Total cost = (freight + fuel surcharge) × discount + packaging cost + other uncertain costs

1. Sender information: sender's name, company name, country, address, contact number, zip code.

2. Recipient information: recipient's name, company name, country, address, contact number, zip code, and city.

* The recipient's information is very important. Incomplete or wrong address may lead to delivery failure, or even cause the goods to be sent to the wrong address. Please ensure the info provided are accurate and detailed.

3. Product information: the number of pieces/boxes of the goods, the weight of the goods (including actual weight and dimensional weight), the size of the goods (length, width, height, measured in cm), the name of the goods (both in both Chinese and English) ).

4. The VAT (Value Added Tax) number, declared value, and customs payer of the sender and recipient (there are three types: recipient, sender, and third party).

1. The tax is based on the verified value of the customs. Generally, the high-declared items are more likely to get high tax. But if you under-declare the value and be found out by the customs, a fine tax will be applied.

2. The duties and customs clearance fees incurred at the destination are generally paid by the recipient. If  the recipient refuses to pay within the processing time specified by FedEx, this fee will be forced to be transferred to the sender. The fees paid by the person and the specific charges will be subject to the notice of the courier customer service or the courier bill.

1. Dangerous goods, liquids, powders, etc., which are prohibited by air. The country expressly prohibits the export of goods, such as antiques, currency and other infringing products.


2. Items that require additional information

When sending batteries and items containing batteries, MSDS certificates and battery letters (original copies are required) are required (please contact customer service if necessary)

Mailing brand-name products requires a formal purchase invoice or authorization letter.


3. Products such as motors and engines cannot be sent.

Shipping from China to Japan The Other surcharges

(1) Changing address handling fee

The changing address handing fee will charged if the sender asks to deliver to another address within the county at 100CNY/piece (no fuel surcharge added). The applies to the following circumstances.

1. The package failed to be delivered because of the wrong or incomplete shipping address.

2. The recipient had moved to a mew address, or left the registered hotel.

3. The company refused to sign the package for the recipient already resigned from this company.


(2) Customs prepaid handling fee

Shipper's prepaid customs duties (DDP) and the handling fee for customs duties paid by third-party accounts are adjusted to 150RMB/order.


(3) Over-weight or over-dimension surcharge

If the single order weight exceed 70kg (do not include 70kg), or the length/width/height exceed 120cm, DHL will charge the over-weight or over-dimension surcharge at 810CNY per piece plus fuel surcharge.


(4) Special handling fee

In the following cases, a special handling fee of 1250RMB/order will be charged, plus the fuel surcharge of the month

1: Except for the special instructions of the shipper, the stickers/texts on the outer box indicate that the goods cannot be stacked ("Do not stack", "Do not stack / No Stack")

2: The outer package (or bare package, etc.) cannot withstand stacking of other goods, shapes or items on a pallet that prevent the safe stacking of a second pallet or other non-pallet shipments.


(5) Remote surcharge: 4.2CNY/KG, minimum charge of CNYRMB, plus fuel surcharge for the month


(6) Surcharge for high-risk areas: (applicable to documents + parcels) Charge standard: 185CNY/order, plus fuel surcharge for the month, (list of countries: Afghanistan, Burundi, Iraq, Libya, Mali, Niger, Syria, South Sudan, Yemen)


(7) Restricted destination surcharge: (only applicable to parcels, documents do not need to be charged) Charge standard: 280 CNY/order, (list of countries: Central African Republic, Cote d’Ivoire, Democratic Republic of Congo, Eritrea, Iran, Iraq , North Korea, Liberia, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Yemen)


Note: For countries and regions that are both within the list of the high risk and restricted destinations, such as Iraq, Libya, Syria, Yemen, etc., the following charging standards are adopted: 185CNY + fuel surcharge + 280CNY
