Shipping from China to India The Things to keep in mind for packaging

Packaging plays an important role in international shipping which affects the quality of transportation. It can be done by the shipper itself or by us. Surcharges may apply if you would like us to repack the goods for you, please contact our cs for more details. The choice of packaging materials depends on the quality of the goods, and the purpose is to make the goods safely protected and supported. The commonly used packaging materials are the wooden boxes, cardboard boxes and so on.


The regulations for the wooden boxes vary from countries. Some countries and regions may require fumigation for wooden boxes, while the others may not.


*For heavy or valuable items such as pianos, ceramics, handicrafts, etc., please pack them in wooden boxes.

* For shipping to countries like the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, Japan, and many other countries, they have strict regulations on unprocessed logs or log packaging. The wooden boxes must be fumigated in the original exporting country, and an approved fumigation certificate must be presented together with the import certificate. Otherwise, fines will be applied and the goods will be returned to the original exporting country.

* European countries requires the wooden packaging must come with the certificate which showed the box is proof from pest damage.

* The processed wooden furniture does not need to be fumigated.

* It's recommended to fill the fragile items with essential filling materials to avoid damage.

* Place a layer of waterproof supplies (such as plastic bags, cloth, etc.) in the carton if possible.

* Place the light and heavy items in a reasonable combination for easy handling.

* The box should be filled with filing materials such as paper, paper towels, small clothes, etc., to prevent the items in the box from being damaged by flipping and colliding with each other during the moving process.

Shipping from China to India The Remote surcharges

The remote surcharge is a common surcharge for international express shipping. In order to provide customers with the most convenient and efficient services (including services to remote areas), international express companies such as DHL, UPS, and FedEx will add remote surcharges when the recipient address belongs to a remote area.


Check for  remote areas:

1. Search by zip code: Find the country on the corresponding remote list according to the country on the recipient's address. For example, if the country is Argentina and the zip code is 1917, then find the country of Argentina on the remote table, and then find out whether the zip code 1917 is on the remote table.

2. Search by city: Some countries do not have zip codes, so they should be queried according to the city name. Cities shown on the remote table are considered as remote. For example: Jamaica, city name: Alley, this city is shown on the remoteness table, so it is a remote area.

Shipping from China to India The Return explanations

If the recipient is unable to sign the package, or the package failed to be hand over to destination customs, or no response is provided within the limited processing time, the package would be returned to the sender/ returned from destination country to Hong Kong or Shenzhen depending on the shipping method. The general trade declaration applications varies from shipping methods.

(1) DHL and UPS: The total calculation weight for single order exceed 100kg or the total declared value exceeds 5000 RMB.

(2) FedEx and TNT: The total calculation weight for single order exceed 500kg or the total declared value exceeds 5000 RMB.

(3) Customers requires general trade declarations to apply for export tax rebates.

(4) Customer requires general trade declarations for other purchases.

Documents required for general trade customs declaration: pro forma invoice, packing list, declaration elements, latest version of customs declaration form, and proxy declaration letter of attorney.

What should I do for the goods that meet the above requirements for customs declaration but do not want to declare it (no formal customs declaration qualification)? Please refer the followings.

1.For customers who have packages which meet the weight requirement of the general trade declaration and cannot be shipped via splited cartons, but do not have import and export qualifications, we can help them deal with customs clearance as an agent, and thus the customer only need to purchase declaration documentation.

2. For goods with a value of more than 5,000 RMB, it can be appropriately under-declared according to the actual situation, shipped as samples, so as to achieve reasonable tax avoidance without formal customs declaration.
