About GLS
GLS is a parcel network based in Amsterdam. It delivers by road across Europe.
When to use GLS
GLS does not collect parcels in China. A special line carries the goods to Europe and clears customs there, and a ground carrier such as GLS makes the delivery. Use this route for cartons that can wait a week and must cost less than express.
We book GLS as part of our special lines service.
How it works

Your goods arrive at our Shenzhen warehouse. We count them and check them against your order.
- 02
We pack the shipment and book the route. You get one tracking number.
- 03
The goods travel to the destination country and clear customs. GLS delivers them to the door.
Weight and price
The price uses the greater of the actual weight and the volume weight. Volume weight is length times width times height in centimetres, divided by 5000. Work it out with the volume weight calculator before you ask for a price.
Tracking
The special line gives you one tracking number. After the goods clear customs in Europe, you can follow the delivery on the GLS website. See how to track a package from China.
Questions
Can I book GLS directly from China?
No. GLS does not collect parcels in China. A special line carries the goods to Europe, and a ground carrier makes the delivery.
Which carrier delivers my special line shipment?
It depends on the country and the route. We tell you the delivery carrier when we send the tracking number.
Who pays the VAT?
On a duty-paid special line, we add the duty and the VAT to the price. The receiver pays nothing at the door.
