TNT Express has won a contract with telecoms company METCO in Oman.
METCO – the Middle East Telecommunication Company – is the exclusive partner of business telecoms firm Avaya International in Oman, and under the contract TNT Express will important and export materials and documents for Avaya in Oman.
TNT Express said Avaya was already one of its global account customers in many countries.
The company said it was able to propose a logistic solution for Avaya that made the most of TNT’s Middle East road and air networks and competitive rates.
Oman is part of TNT Express’s Middle East Road Network, which also covers Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain.
The company offers services in Oman including time-definite delivery before 9am and noon, import deferred economy services and road freight.
James Edgeworth, TNT Express Middle East sales and marketing director, said: “The signing of such a contract will further enhance our competitive position and abilities to provide the highest level of service to customers in Oman.”
Vijay Rajashekaran, METCO Assistant General Manager, said his company had problems with its previous logistics provider, which could not meet its deadlines.
He said: “TNT Express in Oman came in at the right time to resolve those delivery time challenges, the company has demonstrated high service quality, reflected in the successful movement of the first shipments.”
